Kiwis helping Kiwis

That beautiful lady is Waihanga, the second of the three Kiwis that we've now sponsored at the National Kiwi Hatchery. Like Patchell, the Kiwi Hatchery is a Rotorua institution, and it does incredible work protecting and growing the population of our national bird.  

That picture was taken on Waihanga's release date on Rotoroa Island, where she lives with our other two sponsored Kiwi, “Patchell” and “Morse” (who may or may not be named after SI Lodec MD, Shaun Morse). With hatching season between September and March, you could get in on sponsoring your own Kiwi chick like our three. Head along to https://www.nationalkiwihatchery.org.nz/ to get started.
